Renowned Interior Designer Juliette Byrne approached us during the early stages of renovating a luxury penthouse in Mayfair, London. With a reputation for high-end finishes and sophisticated design, Juliette required a smart home system that not only met the technical demands of the project but also seamlessly integrated with her aesthetic vision—something she had struggled to achieve with previous specialists.
Client Requirements
Our remit was to design and install a comprehensive smart home solution tailored to the penthouse’s refined environment. Key system requirements included:
- Robust networking and WiFi with hidden access points
- An advanced smart video system sharing two Sky boxes across six TVs
- A kitchen and dining TV solution with an automated swivel bracket
- A bespoke mirror TV in the master bedroom
- A shower TV in the master ensuite
- A discreet smart audio system with hidden speakers in every room
- An integrated Lutron smart lighting and shading system with bespoke, colour-matched keypads
- Control4 smart remote controls for all TVs
- Integrated control of air conditioning and underfloor heating
- Seamless integration with the communal intercom system via Control4 touchscreens
Bespoke Solutions
Working in close collaboration with Juliette, the contractor, and the electrician, we developed a system design that met the client's needs without compromising the penthouse’s luxurious aesthetic. Our solution included:
Networking & Smart Video:
Installed a robust WiFi network with concealed access points and a smart video system that enables two Sky boxes to distribute content to six strategically located TVs.
Kitchen and Dining TV:
Implemented a recessed Future Automation automated swivel TV bracket, allowing the TV to display in a flat position in the dining area or to swivel for optimal viewing in the kitchen.
Master Bedroom Bespoke Mirror TV:
In partnership with PictureFrame.TV, we engineered a bespoke mirror TV that conceals itself as a mirror, creating the illusion of a flat installation on an angled wall.
Master Ensuite Shower TV:
Integrated an Aquavision Bathroom TV within the shower wall, enabling entertainment even during showering.
Smart Audio System:
Deployed Amina Invisible speakers throughout each room to deliver exceptional sound quality without compromising the interior design.
Lutron Smart Lighting & Shading:
Installed a Lutron system featuring smart lighting, automated shading, and Lutron Palladiom keypads with bespoke finishes from FocusSB, ensuring a consistent and elegant look across all control interfaces.
Integrated Climate Control:
Merged air conditioning and underfloor heating into the Control4 system, allowing unified control via touchscreens and the Control4 App.
Communal Intercom Integration:
Integrated the communal intercom system with the Control4 touchscreens, reducing wall clutter and enabling remote access via the Control4 App.
